The theme for this math night is FALL! The schools will be conducting pumpkin decorations with approximately half of the group that attends while we do math activities with the other half in two, 45-minute rotations. The groups will be divided by grade levels: K-2 and 3-5
After you've had the chance to review the 12 options of math stations, please take the following doodle poll and mark your top 3 choices of activities that you'd like to lead. We will work on a first-come, first served basis! Be sure to type in your name for the poll and select see all 12 options to see the choices more clearly. Finally be sure to save your choices. http://www.doodle.com/h3mbc4frtc2u33k6

Pumpkins: Measure circumference, height, weight, (measurement); this was not conducted last year but fits great with Theme
Water Bottle Rocket Shoot – Choice of 3 different rockets to shoot; measure and record amount of water used and amount of pressure input – record in a table – the table can later be used for data analysis and graphing;this was not conducted last year but weather permitting it would be a great addition! Bottle Rockets could be decorated with leaves, turkeys, or whatever Fall theme you wanted!
Dice Games - adapt for grade level to practice basic facts;I have a book of math games with dice. We'll play "math bowling" with dice in class soon.
Just a Minute – estimate how many times they can do select activities in a minute and then find out the actual (estimation). Samples from last year: K-2
