After a very long weekend of preparing for this demo lesson, I am very relieved.  I believe that my lesson went very well.  My times were pretty much on target.  I would have liked the class to have had more time with my &quot;Box Math,&quot; manipulative.  It was a great problem solving activity, and I am not sure if they really got to experience it like I did when I was practicing with it.  A vast amount of time was spent on the TTU grocery store.  I believe this activity went very well.    I was also surprised at how close some of the girls came to spending the full twenty dollars.  I loved my jelly bean activity.  It was a great way to tie in estimation and grouping strategies that we talked about previously.  I was nervous!  At first, I was tripping over things, and I did ramble on a little bit.  I should have just relaxed.  When I did relax, the lesson went swimmingly.  I had a great time with this lesson.  A lot of prep work went into it.  I hope everyone else got a wide variety of ideas from my lesson on estimation.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nNOW...anyone want some jelly beans?","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"42864466","body":"I think you done a great job Courtney. I loved the grocery store idea, and could tell you had put much time and effort into it. Also, the jelly bean jar was great for estimation, I just feel sorry for you for having to count out all of those jelly beans lol.
