I had a really difficult time trying to figure out how to use the book that Dr. Suters' had picked out. It was a chapter book! Luckily, it all worked out, and I was able to find a way to use it with the chapter I was assigned. I was petrified of teaching concepts that I had a hard time explaining. I absolutely love math, but find it hard to use the correct vocabulary. So a lot of the time I feel like I am making zero sense when I completely understand the concept just not how to teach it. I was really unhappy with my third activity. I could not figure out how to explain how to figure out what number cubed would equal 45. If I could do it over I would probably write down how to explain it because the night before, I did my lesson for my best friend, and he understood it just fine. I think my nerves definitely played a part in messing up my directions for my activities. Overall, I am just glad to have it behind me, but still I keep thinking in my head of things I wish I had done better.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"43324746","body":"Moriah I thought your book was interesting. I would like to take a look at it in the future. Your lesson went pretty well, not many problems that I could see. I think you did do a good job of speaking clearly and loud enough for everyone to hear. Good job!","dateCreated":"1317245329","smartDate":"Sep 28, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"WendyWoods","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/WendyWoods","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1322240787\/WendyWoods-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"43329074","body":"Thank you Wendy!","dateCreated":"1317249872","smartDate":"Sep 28, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"moriah21","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/moriah21","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1322505797\/moriah21-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"43336984","body":"Moriah, I think we all feel stressed when we get up there, but it all works out and we didn't even know you were stressed. I know its frustrating when an activity doesn't work out like it did at home. I think you did an excellent job! I really liked your activities and your chapter. I also wrote down that book because I think it would be beneficial in an older classroom! Great job :)","dateCreated":"1317257776","smartDate":"Sep 28, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"MsJessica","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/MsJessica","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1319247703\/MsJessica-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"43337142","body":"I think you did great Moriah. Exponents and integers are hard to understand sometimes so they are going to be more difficult to teach, but you presented some good activities to teach them. I think the thermometer activity was a really good activity to teach positive and negative because it allows students to see the real world application and that they will need to know positive and negative numbers. You presented the lesson very well and you looked very confident and like you knew what you were talking about! Wonderful job!","dateCreated":"1317323048","smartDate":"Sep 29, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"adwebb42","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/adwebb42","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1284076089\/adwebb42-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"43509014","body":"I think that you did a fantastic job teaching exponents Moriah! Exponents are a very scary thing to some students, I know they were for me. You really made it fun, interesting, and your lesson really kept my attention. I completely understand the feeling of knowing the concept, but feeling like you don't know how to teach the concept. I feel the same way sometimes, but you did a very good job teaching us all of the concepts in your chapter. You also seemed very calm and not nervous at all. You are going to be an amazing teacher!!!! :)","dateCreated":"1317574998","smartDate":"Oct 2, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"jlcoleman1","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/jlcoleman1","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"43692624","body":"I liked your lesson.
